| Elliptical Trainer and Exercise Bike Maintenance Guide |

Elliptical Trainers and Exercise Bikes do not require as much attention as treadmills, yet there are still a few things that we can do to prevent bigger problems in the future. The biggest thing that all elliptical trainers and exercise bikes need is to remain dust-free and clean from sweat. Dust and lint on the the machine and especially on moving components can effect the smoothness, noise level, and feel of the unit. By ignoring the dust and lint on an elliptical or bike, the machine may wear prematurely causing the need to replace certain parts. The next few items are things to do more on a need basis and not on a reqular maintenance schedule, but regular inspection of these items is recommended: - Lube the drive belt with Poly-V Belt Dressing (found at most auto part stores) when the drive belt starts to feel rough or sticky.
- Lubricate wheel, ramps, or guide rails on elliptical trainers. If the wheels or guide rails on the pedals of the elliptical get a little rough and not as smooth as in the past, apply a very small amount of lube on the wheels or guide rails. The best lube to use will vary depending on the make and model of your machine. Please check with the manufacture for exact recommendations.
- Make sure all bolts and joints are correctly tightened (be careful not to over tighten some bolts connecting links or joints).
- Check all buttons and user functionalities for proper functioning.
